Unclogging a Black Tank

Already suffering with a clogged tank? Do this:

  1. Get some gloves. This is a messy job and you're not going to want to be touching anything!
  2. We recommend getting a toilet blaster wand. This wand can connect to a garden hose and helps spray the water into a tank to loosen up the waste. A word of caution: Don't overflow your toilet. This can cause black water to spill into your RV!
  3. Use tank chemicals. These can help break down any waste that has built up in your plumbing system. While they do have some mixed reviews, it's worth a shot!
  4. You can use an external hose wand to push water into your tank from the outside. While this can work, you need to very careful not to flood your RV with too much water in the process.
